Wedding Inspirations

The ease and convenience of using digital cameras today have given rise to many budding photographers at weddings. Be it friends or relatives, even siblings, they certainly find it a thrill to have the opportunity of capturing the special moments which they have been invited to witness. Sure, you've paid 'big bucks' to have professional photographers cover your wedding. However, never discount the so called 'amateurs', who may surprise you with shots ranging from artistic to candid ones! Suffice to say, you will indeed have an extensive range of photos to sift through after the wedding.

It is normally the case that your official wedding album will comprise photos captured by your specially appointed photographers, whilst the remaining ones taken by friends and family often end up either in a pile in a box or perhaps in uninspiring albums with plastic pockets. To the uninitiated, there is a way of putting these photos to better use - photo books! Already a hit in the US, the concept of showcasing cherished photos in photo books has now hit our shores.

Essentially, photo books provide us with the opportunity of presenting our photos in a magazine-like printed format, at an affordable cost. Think of it this way - your own personal magazine or coffee table book! They make great gifts for parents, in-laws, relatives and close friends, without the hassle of making numerous runs to the photography lab to do reprints.

In addition to being great post-wedding gifts to those who took the time to attend your wedding, another interesting way of putting photo books to good use would be at the wedding itself, in particular at the banquet. Photos of milestones leading up to your wedding - the proposal, pre-wedding portraits, the hen and stag nights for instance - can literally depict the journey leading up to the special day. And finally, cherish the moments of your honeymoon too, either as a personal collection or sharing them with your friends. More likely the former I think.

Tip : Unlike traditional printing of publications, photo books are charged on a per copy basis. As such, it is possible to have different versions printed, customised to the requirements of intended recipients.
