Although most wedding venues provide some décor in their wedding packages, most couples nowadays spend a little extra on enhancing what’s provided. They allocate a portion of their budget to specialist wedding decorators for a number of reasons, among which include :

  • Creating a theme for their wedding.
  • Ambience which reflects their selected wedding theme.
  • A beautiful setting as a backdrop for wedding photography.
  • Providing guests with a memorable experience.

When deciding on which decorator to appoint, consider the following :

  • Their track record and previous work.
  • Their unique style and if it fits with your preferences.
  • The price bracket they operate in and whether your budget allows you to consider them.
  • Their support team and associated wedding vendors whom they work with.
  • Have they done weddings at your venue?

As most decorators only do one wedding per day, it is important to place a deposit and secure their services promptly once you have made up your mind. Then, ensure that you brief them on some of the following :

  • Your vision of your wedding venue once bedecked with décor.
  • Some of your ideas and in turn ask for their opinion.
  • How much you are willing to spend.
  • Your venue and necessary restrictions if any.
  • Your favourite colours.
  • Décor components and items that you prefer.
  • Timing of set up and tear down.

Most importantly, once you have selected your vendor, place your trust in them to deliver the goods.
