Beverage Considerations

Jul 01, 2019

In most cases, drinks are very much associated with celebrations. Be it a signature cocktail, mocktail, wine, spirits, beer or soft drinks for that matter, what beverages to serve are always a consideration during the wedding planning process. Indeed, drinks are a pertinent component of a wedding celebration.

Some issues to consider :

  • The percentage of your guest list who will likely be drinking alcohol.
  • What are the alcoholic options you plan to offer?
  • The choices of non-alcoholic drinks for the teetotalers?
  • How much budget would you be setting aside for alcohol?

Some suggestions :

  • Order from a reputable supplier.
  • Contemplate the advice of your chosen supplier on beverage choice and order quantity.
  • Determine if there is a need for food and wine pairing, particularly if you have selected a western menu for the banquet.
  • Negotiate and confirm payment terms before placing your order.
  • Brief your venue’s service team on what to serve and how to serve.
  • For parties at the homes of the bride’s and groom’s families, do consider hiring professional wait staff.
  • Appoint a point-person who will be responsible for receiving and keeping tabs on the drinks.
