Issues To Consider

Jun 01, 2019

Searching for the bridal gown is one area of wedding planning that brides take extremely seriously. This is the dress that they have been thinking of all their lives and it is important that what they choose suits their respective personalities.

When considering a gown, think of the following:

  • Is the dress too revealing or too conservative?
  • Does the dress make you look more mature than your age?
  • Is the dress too old-fashioned? Do you prefer a contemporary look? Or are you one who wants to stand out in an avant-garde design?
  • Does the cut of the dress make you look shorter or taller or slimmer?
  • Does the gown make you go ‘wow’?
  • Try it on; you will never know how it looks unless you put it on. Be sure also to have proper undergarments to ensure a better fit.

A few tips:

  • When going for measurements for a custom-made gown, wear fitting attire so that measurements can be more accurate.
  • Bring appropriate undergarments and heels for fittings.
  • Whilst it is always good to have a bridesmaid, sister, friend or mother come along during fittings, it is best kept to one or two persons only to avoid too many conflicting opinions.
