First things first :

  • Be willing to visit a number of designers or studios to have a look at what’s available and what’s in trend.
  • Make the effort to try on a range of gowns in order to determine what cut looks best on you.

If you decide to rent an off-the-rack gown :

  • Make a deposit payment early to secure the gown.
  • Determine if alterations are included in the cost or if you have to budget for it.
  • Take note of duration for which you can have the gown.

If your budget permits made-to-measure :

  • Discuss budgets and what you can afford.
  • Work out lead time required to create the dress, for fittings as well as alterations.
  • Check if there is a buy-back option available after your wedding.
