A smaller guest list is increasing in popularity as many couples now wish to have a smaller, intimate celebration where they have the opportunity to spend more time with their loved ones and guests. Whilst we often only think of hotels as venues for large scale weddings, many such properties also house restaurants within their premises which are suited to relatively smaller celebrations.

Such restaurants offer an intimate venue in an elegant setting, with a level of service expected of a hotel. Indeed, the hotel’s wedding planner would still be providing a service similar to that of a ballroom wedding, ensuring that the couple is given due attention and assistance, be it for a banquet or perhaps a ROM lunch.

When deciding to host a function in a hotel restaurant, consider the following :

  • Capacity. How many guests can they accommodate?
  • Menus. Do they offer the same menus as those of ballroom weddings?
  • Minimum numbers. How many tables would one need to book in order to have the entire restaurant to yourselves?
  • Package details. What comes with the package? Free corkage, décor, wedding  cake, favours and the like?
  • Room. Would there be a room for the bride to have a change of attire?

Tip : Visit the restaurant to have a meal beforehand.
