Post wedding, if you were to pose this question to the newlyweds, they will more likely than not answer in the affirmative – money well spent. Money for hiring a wedding planner that is. Sure, it will eat into your wedding budget but the peace-of-mind attained by having a specialist assist you in your wedding plans more than makes up for it.

Having a wedding planner map out your entire wedding only really works if you have faith in them and truly trust their expertise. In a sense, it is necessary to relinquish some control. A well regarded planner will deliver the goods, creating a wedding from the gamut of input obtained from you in terms of your preferences, your desires, your visions of a dream wedding.

When evaluating wedding planners, seek answers to the following :

  • Other than full service planning, do they also offer actual day coordination only or perhaps even ad hoc services?
  • Their track record and industry standing.
  • The size of their team.
  • Who are the other vendors they work with on weddings?
  • Their charges.
  • How much of a free-hand do they expect?
