A Romantic Trip For Two

The first holiday as newlyweds could very possibly be the most romantic trip a couple will experience. Over time, we hope to bring you brief insights into both foreign and local destinations, some well-known, others more of a 'best kept secret' nature, as you plan your getaway after the exhilaration of tying-the-knot.

Exotic, romantic, shopping-haven, culturally-diverse, adventure-laden destinations aside, it is really the company of your better-half that will make your honeymoon one that you will cherish for a lifetime. Some opt for a quiet and relaxing couple of days on an idyllic island while others prefer a city-hopping cross-border tour. Some even go as far as a trek into the wilderness, taking in the gifts of Mother Nature. Whatever your inclinations however, be sure to plan ahead. Last minute tickets and accommodation may be hard to come by, particularly for more popular honeymoon destinations. And just like getting married, you wouldn't want to settle for second best, would you?

We sometimes do not realise that we probably have some of the best places to visit in our own backyard. Whilst the trend in the past has been for honeymoons abroad, many are now hopping onto the 'Cuti-Cuti Malaysia' bandwagon, which is a good thing really. If one were to plan ahead far enough, great deals abound at the many travel and tourism fairs held from time to time all over the country. What better way to explore our country than with someone you love and whom you will be sharing the rest of your life with.

Having said that, many also flock to foreign locales. Whether long-haul or short-haul flights, within the region or across continents, the excitement of travelling abroad, seeing the sights, sampling the food and experiencing the culture of another country and its people, is always a thrill and something to look forward to. Travelling independently or with a tour group is a personal preference but do make arrangements for some quality time together.

Most importantly, don't forget your camera! Decades later, you will certainly be able to have a good laugh as you reminisce while rummaging through snapshots of your first trip as husband and wife.

Tip : Surf the Internet to learn more about the places you will visit on your honeymoon as it will ensure a better understanding about the destinations when you arrive.
