Often when one speaks
of weddings, the first thing that comes to mind
is the bridal gown. Many would say that wedding
flowers come a close second. Somehow, flowers,
perhaps more than any other element of a wedding,
create the visual impact that brings to mind a
sense of romanticism and love.

At the very
least, flowers take the form of the following
at any wedding :
Here are a few issues
to think over when considering floral themes :
Local blooms vs imported blooms.
Single floral type vs multiple varieties.
A dominant colour vs several colours.
Strong colours vs soft colours.
Flower-focus vs foliage-focus.

When meeting with
floral designers, you should perhaps pose some
of these questions :
What is their design philosophy?
Who from their team will be handling your
wedding and if there are photos of his or
her work to view?
Will the designer be dedicated to your event
exclusively on your wedding day?
What flowers will they recommend vis-a-vis
seasonality?
What are the latest trends in floral design?
Is delivery included in the charges or do
you have to collect?
Have they done weddings at your ceremony
and banquet venues?

Tip
: Do not be afraid to discuss budgets with floral
designers, no matter how small you think your
budget may be. However, do be realistic and work
within your means.
