Getting The Bride Ready

Jul 01, 2020

First things first, be sure to go in search of and hire a makeup and hair artist promptly at the onset of your wedding planning process. As a bride-to-be, you will always want to look your best, be it for your pre-wedding shoot or on the day of your nuptials.

Some tips at the start of your search :

  • Get recommendations from recently married friends and family.
  • See if your gown designer or wedding photographer has a collaborative partner to refer.
  • Set up an appointment to meet with your shortlist; meeting in person is vital to ensure that you are comfortable with each other.

For a pre-wedding shoot, determine the following :

  • Discuss with both your makeup artist and photographer the ‘looks’ to achieve and if there is a concept to adhere to.
  • Indoor and outdoor sessions may require different treatments in terms of makeup and hair.
  • Local shoot vs destination shoot, and if it is the latter, what will the additional charges be.
  • Date and duration.

Ensure that the following is in order prior to the day of your nuptials :

  • A timeline for your makeup artist and hair stylist to work on.
  • If it is an early morning start, have breakfast prepared for yourself as well as your appointed vendors.
  • Schedule of events in particular if you are having your makeup and hair artist stay back for touch-ups and the like.
