The Complete Package

Jan 01, 2020

The wedding and evening gowns have been chosen. The jewellery have been selected. The only things left for the bride-to-be to complete her look would be custom bridal shoes and accessories as well as appointing her makeup artist and hair stylist.

Some advice :

  • Bring along photos of your gowns when you consult with the makeup artist as well as shoe designer.
  • Get input from your hair stylist when it comes to the most appropriate hair accessories to don. Better still, link him or her up with the accessories designer for them to confer.
  • Always schedule a trial makeup session.
  • Keep a lookout for promotions when it comes to makeup as well as discounts or clearance sales vis-à-vis readymade shoes and accessories.

Some couples may also go the DIY route and take on the task of setting up the dessert bar with the help of family and friends. One trend that has also emerged is for cake designers to offer pre-determined packages that couples, decorators and wedding planners can order, thereby eliminating their need to worry about the ‘food’ component of the bar and focus only on the presentation and décor.

Other factors to deliberate :

  • Your wedding budget and how much you have allocated for each component – makeup, shoes and accessories.
  • Lead time required to customise shoes and accessories.
  • Amount of deposits required to secure the services of these wedding vendors.
