A wedding cake has always been a must at any wedding celebration, be it a ‘dummy’ version provided by the venue or a ‘customised’ real wedding cake specifically designed for the occasion. We of course would recommend the latter, as it certainly acts as a centrepiece of the wedding banquet. Even better, if guests can be served some of the wedding cake as part of the dessert.

Other than the wedding cake, recent years have seen dessert buffets making inroads into wedding banquets as well. A specially conceptualised and curated spread of desserts, enticing guests to sample a sweet treat at the end of the evening’s celebrations.
Some suggestions :
- Do allocate some budget for either or both!
- Have the wedding cake and dessert buffet created based on the wedding theme you have selected.
- Request for an opportunity to taste the cakes and desserts prior to confirming flavours and frostings with your chosen vendor.
- Rope in your wedding decorator to set up the dessert table as well.
- If your wedding banquet is relatively large, consider setting up the desserts at two stations instead of one to avoid congestion.
