Inspiring The Artistic Eye

Apr 01, 2020

Pre-wedding photography has always been the ‘love’ of many a wedding photographer. In a more controlled environment when compared to the happy-chaos of the actual wedding day, they are able to put their artistic vision to good use, creating imagery that soon-to-be-wed couples will cherish.

Whether the pre-wedding shoot takes place locally or abroad, a number of things can be inspiring to wedding photographers :

  • The destination itself.
  • Scenic landscapes.
  • Historical buildings or sites of heritage value.
  • Architecture.
  • The personalities of the couple themselves.

When planning for pre-wedding shoots, be sure to contemplate the following :

  • The photographic style of the vendor.
  • Do you feel comfortable and do you get along with them?
  • Their various packages and inclusions.
  • Price points vis-à-vis your planned budget.
  • Are they offering any promotions and special deals?
  • If you are considering a destination shoot, have they been there? If not, can they do the necessary research on locations?

Some additional suggestions :

  • Be open to new locations and destinations, especially those that have not seen a proliferation of pre-wedding photos shot there.
  • Constantly keep an eye on air-fares and accommodation deals.
