A Tea Ceremony And A Banquet

Sep 01, 2020

Assembling the extended family and relatives at the hotel where the wedding banquet is hosted for a tea ceremony prior to the reception is certainly a good idea. Apart of negating the need to travel between locations, it also somewhat ensures that family members, both immediate and extended, are on time at the commencement of the banquet.

Some issues to discuss with the hotel as part of the planning process :

  • Location for set up for the tea ceremony, its capacity and the number of people expected.
  • Other than the newlyweds serving tea, will there be any refreshments served, and if yes, what would the budget be like.
  • Duration required for the event space, particularly if there is décor to be done.

Some suggestions :

  • Have the tea ceremony scheduled just prior to the banquet so that there is not too long a wait for the festivities to start once tea has been served.
  • Allocate a bit of time for some portraits to be shot, especially if the hotel has picturesque locations to do so.
