‘I Do’ On The Lawn

Jan 01, 2020

Taking the wedding vows, saying ‘I do’ and exchanging rings in front of assembled family and friends in an outdoor garden setting is the aspiration of many, and when such an opportunity arises and with budget permitting, it is certainly meaningful to see the couple’s dream fulfilled.

Some tips when planning for a garden wedding ceremony :

  • The size of the lawn and how many people it can accommodate.
  • Will you be exchanging vows alfresco or do you wish to erect a canopy.
  • Depending if you are having a morning or late afternoon ceremony, be sure to discuss photography angles vis-à-vis the sun with your photographer as well as the venue’s events team.
  • What is the backup plan if it rains.
  • Will the reception thereafter be hosted outdoors as well or perhaps in the air-conditioned comforts of an indoor setting.
  • Work out logistics of parking for your guests.

Discuss the following with your team of wedding vendors as well :

  • The wedding theme that would be compatible with the venue.
  • Décor ideas to enhance the setting, if necessary.
