Contemplating Hiring A Wedding Planner?

Feb 01, 2020

Many soon-to-be-wed couples start off their wedding planning process on their own, doing the research online and through wedding publications, perhaps roping in some close friends to help. A number will end up organising the entire wedding on their own, but a large number too typically end up hiring a wedding planner to assist.

The service options :

  • Full wedding planning service is where the event planner undertakes the entire planning process, naturally with input from the couple and sometimes their families, from relatively early on in the process right through to the wedding day itself.
  • On-day coordination is where the event planner takes on the planning files from the couple a few weeks out from the wedding where the focus is on coordinating the wedding day as it unfolds.

Which service a couple subscribes to will depend on a number of factors :

  • The budget they have allocated for this purpose. The former naturally will entail a larger investment.
  • How much time a couple can afford to put into wedding planning and how organised they are in terms of vendor and venue sourcing, evaluating their choices and securing the wedding professionals and their preferred venue.
  • How well the couple copes with stress and the multitude of nitty-gritty tasks involved.

Some suggestions :

  • Appoint a planner you can get along with, someone who is easy-going in your opinion, as you will be spending quite a lot of time with him or her in the months leading up to your nuptials.
  • Place your trust in your wedding planner, here’s why.
