Observing A Traditional Wedding Culture

Jul 26, 2017

Name of couple : Nadiah and Max

Venue : Glass House Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur

Theme : Rustic Romance for the Ceremony and Elegant, Romance for the Wedding Banquet

Wedding experts : Ooi Eric Studio, Babysbreath and Sanggul Event

Wedding photographer Eric Ooi of Ooi Eric Studio shares his sentiments … Max is German while Nadiah is Malaysian. They were married in Germany, but wanted to also observe the traditional Malay wedding culture by hosting a ‘bersanding’ dinner session for their family and friends. From the soothing sounds of the gamelan to the thunderous claps of the kompang, the atmosphere was resonating with tradition and merriment. The German folks did not feel out of place, but rather took to the wedding celebrations like ducks to water. It is a heartwarming experience to have had the opportunity to witness and photograph such a joyful occasion celebrated by two different cultures and backgrounds for one reason in common, the union of two souls made for each other.
