The planning team at Eventistry share their thoughts on this wedding … ‘With the pandemic hitting the wedding industry, it can get daunting for planners (and couples!) to straighten out minute details when it comes to adhering to SOP guidelines. With this, Yvonne and Andrew’s wedding was one that stood out the most for us this year because it got us putting on our creative hats like never before! The planning process was one that involved having to deal with changes and learning to embrace it all. We’re thankful that our couple fought along the tides with us over countless WhatsApp conversations and Zoom Calls, planning for backup plans over backup plans. It was the couple’s persistence in the end that really got rewarded with a memorable celebration at the end of the day. One key element in planning “The New Norm Wedding” today is to do careful scheduling of your wedding day in a way that minimises movement and maximising the venue’s space as much as possible. Yvonne and Andrew had their Wedding Ceremony, Tea Ceremony, and Wedding Dinner on the same day, all at the same venue. We added in fun elements that were suited to the new norm, for example, coloured wristbands to “remind” loved ones to maintain a safe distance, informing your guests beforehand on their table seating prior to the wedding to avoid over-crowding at the registration table, and even re-purposing your ceremony backdrop into a photo booth backdrop. Needless to say, there were no challenges that were too difficult for us as planners and wedding professionals, and even to all couples out there, to stop you from making your dream wedding come true. All you need is a little persistence and creativity to dance the night away!’
