The event planners at Elysium Weddings had this to say about this wonderful wedding … ‘When someone says a wedding brings two families together, it is true but not always in a favourable light. In the case of Ann Marie and Vinesh, both families were united in love and marriage, but perfected in joy, laughter and fun. This wedding stood out to us in a few ways. Firstly, the couple resides in Australia and the planning was done remotely. The bride entrusted the groom’s mother with all the decisions and was happy to just attend the wedding and truly let her hair down. In fact, the bride only met us on the wedding day itself! The wedding was held in Malaysia as the groom’s grandfather was too old to travel to Australia and he was smiling ear to ear during the entire wedding. It was indeed very touching to see. As for the wedding itself, the modern yet traditional wedding ceremony was followed by the reception, both at the same venue. With a touch of western elements injected while observing traditional culture, the wedding was perfectly orchestrated. We also have to mention the groom’s mother, a published Malaysian cook book author, who handmade, packed and personally transported the wedding favors which were Love cakes, a Sri Lankan tradition. They were sinfully delicious and were one of the highlights of the event’.
